The Iran regime’s incoming president, Masoud Pezeshkian, reaffirmed Monday that his government’s anti-Israel policies will continue during his tenure.
In a statement after receiving congratulatory comments on his victory from Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, Pezeshkian thanked the terrorist while confirming that the "Islamic Republic has always supported the resistance of the people of the region against the illegitimate Zionist regime."
The 69-year-old heart surgeon and former health minister continued by stating that he was certain "that the resistance movements in the region will not allow this regime [Israel] to continue its warmongering and criminal policies against the oppressed people of Palestine and other nations of the region."
Despite being designated as a ‘reformist’ candidate by many Western media sources, Pezeshkian’s sentiments suggest that he will not obstruct Tehran’s longtime efforts to arm factions committed to the destruction of the Jewish state.
These actions have involved backing Hezbollah, supporting Houthi rebels in Yemen, and aiding several Palestinian terror groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
