Agroup of a dozen North Carolina Democrats walked out of a Tuesday vote on a resolution urging Congress to support Israel in the wake of a major incursion into the country by Hamas terrorists based in the Gaza Strip.

Over the weekend, Jihadi forces stormed a number of border towns, seizing hostages and inflicting civilian casualties. The raid stunned the Israeli government and prompted full-scale retaliatory attacks on Gaza.

Amid the ongoing fighting, North Carolina House members met to vote on a resolution asking Washington to support Jerusalem, which passed 104-0, according to the Carolina Journal.

Twelve Democrats, however, did note vote on the measure and left the lower chamber.

Among those dozen were Democratic Reps. John Autry, Amber Baker, Gloristine Brown, Kanika Brown, Maria Cervania, Terence Everitt, Pricey Harrison, Nasif Majeed, Marcia Morey, Renee Price, Diamond Staton-Williams, and Julie von Haefen.

House Resolution 897 urged Congress to "offer full and unequivocal support of Israel financially and otherwise for as long as it takes for Israel to bring justice in light of the unprovoked attacks on innocent Israeli civilians."
