According to "top secret" documents, Palestinian terrorists intentionally targeted children when they launched their attack against Israel last weekend.
The documents, obtained by NBC News, show that Hamas had written detailed plans to target elementary schools and a youth center in the Israeli kibbutz of Kfar Sa'ad.
The plans were reportedly labeled "top secret" in Arabic and laid out a plan to "kill as many people as possible," and to take hostages and move them to the Gaza Strip.
They "appear to be orders for two highly trained Hamas units to surround and infiltrate villages and target places where civilians, including children, gather. Israeli authorities are still determining the death toll in Kfar Sa'ad," according to NBC.
The documents were found by Israeli first responders and given to NBC News. The documents contained a map that laid out specific plans.
One page was labeled “Top Secret” and outlines a plan of attack for Kfar Sa’ad. It reads: “Combat unit 1” is directed to “contain the new Da’at school,” while “Combat unit 2” is to “collect hostages,” “search the Bnei Akiva youth center” and “search the old Da’at school.”
An IDF official told the outlet that there is an ongoing investigation and he's "never seen this kind of detailed planning" for a mass terrorist attack.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war last week following an unprecedented attack by Hamas. More attacks are expected to come.
