The Foreign Desk’s Editor-in-Chief Lisa Daftari says the protests in Iran are not “solely a feminist movement” as young men join the fight against the nation’s Islamic regime. “I don’t think this is solely a feminist movement although the women have been incredibly brave and they’ve come out onto the streets,” she told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “They’ve taken off their hijab, I mean, the face of this movement is obviously Mahsa Amini – the woman who was killed because of her wear of her hijab, but the men are there with them, this is a generational fight. “The most unique aspect of this is the fact that they’re so united this time.”
