Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned the exit from Afghanistan could leave the United States vulnerable to an attack similar to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Due to Taliban control of the country, the U.S. is vulnerable to attack, and the risk has increased since last year, the former secretary of state said.
"We are more likely to be attacked like New York City was 20-some years ago. We're more likely to be attacked from that place today than we were just one year ago," Pompeo said while speaking with John Catsimatidis on the Cats Roundtable radio show on Sunday.
Pompeo also blasted President Joe Biden's exit strategy from the country in 2021, referencing an attack on U.S. soldiers during the exit that left 13 troops dead.
