President Joe Biden, as he had promised, vetoed a bipartisan resolution that would have blocked his waiver of the “Buy America” requirements for the president’s taxpayer-subsidized electric vehicle charging buildout.

As the White House had promised Biden would do, he vetoed the resolution Wednesday, Fox News reported.

The House voted earlier this month to hold the Biden administration to the “Buy America” requirements, which the Department of Transportation had attempted to ease under the final rules it released in February.

The rules raised concerns about American taxpayer dollars supporting Chinese businesses, which would provide many of the components for the charging stations.
