The regime in Iran is ignoring the June 5 censure of its nuclear program by the International Atomic Energy Agency, several diplomats told Reuters on Wednesday.

The sources told the news agency that rather than accept the resolution that demanded compliance with United Nations nuclear inspectors, the Islamic Republic is expanding its uranium enrichment efforts at two of its underground processing facilities.

One of the individuals who spoke to Reuters suggested that the new augmentation was less than expected but that the regime could be waiting until a new president is inaugurated after the June 28 election.

The report comes after the release of a confidential IAEA summary last month that accused Tehran of increasing its stockpile of near-weapon-grade fissile materials to over 300 lbs. Experts contend that around 90 lbs. are needed to make a nuclear weapon.

The condemnation, the first since 2022, was initiated by France, Germany, and the United Kingdom after the Biden administration withdrew its support of the measure.
