Moscow will provide assistance to any foreigners seeking three-month visas to escape “neoliberal ideals” in their home countries and seek temporary residence in Russia, “where traditional values reign supreme.”
The decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Russian News Agency, allows immigrants to apply for temporary residence without providing documentation that they have knowledge of Russian language, history and basic laws.
Applications, the agency reported, may be based on the applicants’ rejection of their policies in their home country that are “aimed at imposing destructive neoliberal ideals on people, which run counter to Russian spiritual and moral values.”
The Foreign Ministry has been instructed to start issuing three-month visas to such applicants as early as in September.
