Israel’s military is now setting its sights on Hezbollah’s financial arm with plans to attack “a large number of targets” in Beirut and elsewhere in the very near future.

Hezbollah is the Iranian-backed terrorist militia group based in Lebanon, a country that it largely controls.

Israeli military spokesman Rear. Adm. Daniel Hagari says they will issue evacuation warnings for people in parts of Beirut, and “anyone who will be near the sites used to finance Hezbollah’s terrorist activity is required to stay away from them immediately.”

The planned attack will be targeting al-Qard al-Hassan, a senior Israeli intelligence official said, according to The Associated Press. It is a registered nonprofit, sanctioned by both the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, that provides financial services and is also used by ordinary Lebanese.

Al-Qard al-Hassan is a unit within Hezbollah and is used to pay operatives of the group and help buy arms, the official added. Israel successfully targeted and killed Hezbollah’s longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, last month. Hezbollah has fired more than 10,000 rockets into Israel since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7 of last year.
