The Maduro regime intensified its harassment against opposition leader María Corina Machado on Thursday by besieging the residence of her mother, Corina Parisca de Machado, in Caracas.
The Venezuelan Command reported through the X social media platform that two patrols from the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) parked in front of Corina Machado's residence on two occasions, keeping their sirens on while hooded officials patrolled around the house.
The opposition coalition reported that each incident lasted around 30 minutes with no official reasons being provided for the agents' presence.
It was not known if Corina Machado's mother was actually at her residence at the time the Maduro sponsored patrols arrived.

The new stage of harassment against Corina Machado's mother comes after the Venezuelan Attorney General's Office accused Machado of treason, cooperating with foreign governments and propensity to commit a crime for showing her support for the BOLIVAR Law project that is being discussed in the United States House of Representatives.
The proposed bipartisan law was co-sponsored by Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Republican Rep. Mike Waltz.
Maduro’s Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, said that the regime knows where Corina Machado has been since the opposition reported fraud related to the presidential elections on July 28.
“She believes she is in hiding” the Maduro official said, suggesting that the regime knows where the opposition leader really is.
On Thursday, Corina Machado shared a video on the X social media platform in which she expressed her indignation at the accusations of “treason to the country” leveled against her by the dictatorship.

“They can accuse us of treason when we stop believing that this country will be free,” Machado said in her message, ensuring that she would not give up in her defense of Venezuelan democracy.
In recent days, the opposition has denounced the siege outside the residence of the Argentine Embassy in Caracas where six anti-Chavistas have been taking refuge since March.
Those refugees include Corina Machado’s close associates, Omar González and Pedro Urruchurtu, Machado's campaign manager, Magalli Meda, Vente Venezuela (VV) communications coordinator Claudia Macero, VV campaign command electoral coordinator Humberto Villalobos and former minister Fernando Martínez Mottola who serves as an advisor to the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD).
