The Biden administration hosted a Pentagon official with alleged connections to the Islamic Republic at White House offices on at least eight separate occasions, according to a report from The Washington Free Beacon.
Ariane Tabatabai, a senior aid to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations, Christopher Maier, was identified through leaked emails in 2023 by Iran International and Semafor of being a senior member of the ‘Iran Experts Initiative,’ reportedly a project by Tehran’s foreign ministry to amplify the regime’s propaganda in the United States.
Perusing visitor logs, The Beacon determined that Tabatabai attended multiple meetings between November 2023 and April 2024 that included such locations as the Presidential Personnel Office, where the recruiting and vetting of political appointments takes place.
Despite the allegations made against Tabatabai, United States security officials have refused to revoke her security clearance despite several Republican lawmakers investigating her relationship with the Iranian regime.
