Two Israelis were murdered while driving in their car on Route 91 near Nafah Junction in the Golan Heights on Tuesday evening after a Katyusha rocket fired from Lebanon struck their vehicle.
The Tehran-backed Hezbollah militia claimed responsibility for the 40 projectile bombardment that led to the incident, stating that the attack was in response to the elimination of two of the group’s operatives in Syria earlier in the day.
The terrorist organization asserted that its intended target was the IDF’s Nafah base, situated near the Ortal kibbutz.
The deaths of the two unnamed individuals brought the number of civilians killed in the region since the start of the war in Gaza to 12.
