White House Disputes Whistleblower Claim Hunter Biden Got ‘Preferential Treatment’ in IRS Probe

“President Biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the Justice Department,” the White House said.

The White House on Thursday denied IRS whistleblower's allegations that federal prosecutors engaged in "preferential treatment and politics" to prevent first son Hunter Biden from being charged in a criminal tax probe.

"Since he took office and consistent with his campaign promise that he would restore the independence of the Justice Department when it comes to decision-making in criminal investigations, President Biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the Justice Department, under the leadership of a U.S. Attorney appointed by former President Trump, free from any political interference by the White House," White House spokesperson Ian Sams said, according to Fox News Digital. "He has upheld that commitment."

The Biden administration's denial of wrongdoing comes after a top-ranking IRS official who has been overseeing Hunter Biden's criminal tax probe since 2020 revealed Wednesday that he is ready to come forward with "examples of preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected."

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) told Just the News: "We've been wondering all along where the heck the DOJ and the IRS have been. Now it appears the Biden administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing any consequences."
