Many of the illegal immigrants who stormed the Texas border in El Paso and knocked over members of the Texas national guard this week have been processed and released into the U.S. according to numerous reports, including from New York Post reporter Jennie Taer in an interview with Fox News' Dana Perino.

”This sends the message to people around the world that even if you act like this you can probably get into the country,” Taer said, according to The Daily Wire. “And I think they continue to push these boundaries and to see what they can get away with and here they got away with some really, really scary stuff.”

A video taken by the New York Post and posted Thursday showed migrants breaking through fencing and knocking down guard members. The Post also reported that El Paso’s migrant dashboard showed that 743 people were released from custody and into the U.S. on Thursday, either on parole or to pursue asylum claims.

The same dashboard shows that 2,000 to 2,500 people are held in Border Patrol custody on a nightly basis.

National Border Patrol Council president Brandon Judd also told Fox that agents are going through video footage to figure out who assaulted the other guard members.
