In an announcement made via Twitter on Tuesday, First Lady Jill Biden disclosed her upcoming visit to the Middle East, North Africa, and Portugal. Notably absent from her itinerary is Israel, as she intends to focus on Muslim-majority nations during her trip. The First Lady stated that the purpose of her visit is to strengthen existing partnerships and engage with the youth of the region to discuss matters pertaining to the future.

One prominent event on the First Lady's agenda is her attendance at the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, the son of Jordanian King Abdullah II, who is set to marry Rajwa Al Saif, a Saudi-born individual. The wedding ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 1 at Zahran Palace.

This decision to exclude Israel from the itinerary coincides with the Biden administration's approach of refraining from direct meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since his electoral victory in November. The administration has maintained its stance on pursuing diplomatic channels through other means.
