Israel’s Kan News reported on a video Sunday depicting Hamas members assaulting Palestinians attempting to receive food packages from relief trucks.
According to an IDF source interviewed by Kan, the Hamas operatives proceeded to transfer the humanitarian shipment to the organization's supply bunkers.
Israeli military officials described the events in a statement that said, "In footage captured by the IDF Border Defense Corps in Shejaiya, Hamas members are seen forcibly taking humanitarian aid from civilians, loading it onto a Hamas vehicle, beating civilians, and then driving to a Hamas-run site."
Sunday's actions by the Gaza-based terror group were not the first time that they have come under scrutiny for misappropriating civilian aid. On Dec. 7, a reporter for Al Jazeera was forced to abruptly end an interview when a local elderly woman told him that international assistance "does not reach all the people… Hamas takes everything to their homes."
Also on Sunday, Hamas was accused of preventing the delivery of 300 liters of fuel to the Shifa Hospital, which was provided by the IDF.
