Amid reports that rescue units are having weather-related difficulties in locating the missing helicopter that was carrying the Islamic Republic's president, Ebrahim Raisi, Russia and Turkey announced on Sunday that they will be sending equipment and technical personnel to help in the recovery mission.

A special assistant to the Russian president reportedly told the regime’s vice president, Muhammad Mukhbar, that on the orders of Vladimir Putin, several reconnaissance aircraft and 50 individuals with mountain extrication experience are in the process of being flown to Tabriz to join the effort to locate any survivors.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Ministry confirmed to reporters that Tehran had requested their assistance, specifically asking for night-vision equipment and specialized aviation capabilities.

In addition to Tehran's request, Ankara announced that they are also dispatching six ground vehicles and 32 mountaineer soldiers to the area.

The European Union’s Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic, released a statement saying that he had ordered his organization’s satellite mapping service to aid in the search attempt.
