Israel’s prime minister’s office issued a travel advisory on Tuesday about a "growing fear of attacks on Israelis and Jews across Thailand," following indications from security functionaries in the Asian nation that terrorists may be planning an incident during this week's 'Full Moon Party' in Koh Phangan.
The statement, issued in cooperation with the Mossad and the National Security Council, revealed recent terrorist plots in the country had been thwarted with the assistance of Thai authorities.
The NSC posted a corresponding caution on its website, advising prospective travelers to Thailand to avoid activities that could reveal their Israeli or Jewish identity, refrain from sharing their itineraries on social media, and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement while abroad.
Last month, officials in Jerusalem urged its citizens in Sri Lanka to return home after the U.S. embassy released an emergency bulletin, citing "credible information warning of an attack targeting popular tourist locations."
