Two Americans have pleaded guilty to attempting to aid the Islamic State.

James Bradley pleaded guilty on Friday to attempting to provide material support to the terror group while his wife, Arwa Muthana, pleaded guilty on Monday to the same, according to Fox News.

Bradley and his wife were arrested in 2021 while trying to board a cargo ship to Yemen. He previously made statements to undercover officers expressing his support for the establishment of a caliphate and also detailed alternative plans to strike U.S. military personnel within the nation's borders, the outlet reported.

The pair face 20 years in prison but will not be sentenced until February 2023.

Muthana's sister, Hoda, was among those who traveled to the caliphate to marry a jihadi soldier. She was thrice married to soldiers of the terror group and has been denied reentry to the United States.
