Two Israeli citizens were murdered in a rocket attack that targeted Kiryat Shmona Wednesday after the Tehran-backed Hezbollah militia launched at least 60 projectiles into the Jewish state.
The civilian fatalities, reportedly the first since the IDF’s ground invasion of southern Lebanon earlier this month, occurred on the same day five individuals were injured in a separate bombardment landing in Haifa.
The deceased were identified as Dvir Sharvit and Revital Yehud, a middle-aged couple who were struck while attempting to move to a bomb shelter.
The incursions were also said to have caused a power outage and several wildfires in the area, a recurring consequence of the proxy group’s year-long campaign to terrorize the region with nearly daily launches of dangerous munitions.
The incidents follow statements made on Tuesday by Hezbollah’s de facto leader, Naim Qassem, confirming his terrorist organization will support a ceasefire agreement proposed by Lebanese Parliamentary Speaker Nabih Berri.
