Israeli authorities announced four military personnel were killed and at least 60 injured in a Sunday night Hezbollah drone attack targeting an army base in Binyamina.

"Yesterday, a UAV launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organization hit an army base," the IDF said in a social media statement. "IDF soldiers were killed in the incident. The IDF shares in the grief of the bereaved families and will continue to accompany them."

Local media reported that two of Hezbollah’s remote-controlled “Mirsad-1” devices crossed into Israel’s airspace from the northern coast and were detected by IDF radar. One of the lingering munitions was intercepted over the Mediterranean Sea, before responding aircraft lost track of the second one.

The evading aerial vehicle successfully detonated just before 7 p.m. in a dining area within the facility’s perimeter during dinner service. Images shared on social media afterward appear to show the damaged mess hall.

The casualties were transported to the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, the Ramban Hospital in Haifa, and the Sheba Hospital in Ramat Gan.

The two projectiles were part of an additional 115 launched at the Jewish state on the same day.
