The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has been gathering information from survivors of the October 7 massacre in southern Israel in support of a Justice Department probe of Hamas’s patrons, according to a Wednesday report by Bloomberg.
Sources told the news outlet that the participants include victims and family members of U.S. citizens who were murdered or kidnapped during the terrorist’s rampage.
The FBI’s efforts are reportedly part of a broader focus on the financial networks that funded the bloodbath, with special consideration directed towards the actions of the Islamic Republic and Qatar, and whether any monetary transactions took place using the American banking system.
Last week, the Anti-Defamation League filed a lawsuit in federal court on behalf of 125 U.S. citizens who suffered from the incursion, alleging that the regimes in Iran, North Korea, and Syria enabled Hamas to carry out their attack that included abduction, murder, and rape.
A DOJ spokesperson declined to comment on the story.
