On Sunday, a video released by the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group depicted soldiers conducting drills for a raid on an Israeli "command and control center," where they simulated taking IDF members hostage.
Titled "Yemen is the Pillar Support of Palestine," the footage displayed missiles being fired and featured attack drones dropping explosives on buildings adorned with U.S. and Israeli flags. Palestinian flag-holding members of the formation were then seen engaging in mock ground operations.
In January, the organization published another prerecorded demonstration portraying a scenario similar to the Oct. 7 massacre in southern Israel. The presentation included a depiction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu being assassinated.
Since October, the Yemen-based militants have been conducting repeated attacks on commercial shipping in the region. The unrestricted aggression has caused turmoil in the global oceangoing transport industry and forced Western naval forces to provide security in the area.
On Saturday, the U.S. and the U.K. announced that they targeted Houthi storage facilities, missile launchers, and radar apparatus in their third incursion against the group since November.
The Houthi leadership has stated that the reason for their actions is to show support for Hamas terrorists as they fight Israel in Gaza.
