A Massachusetts resident pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston on Monday to charges involving menacing voicemails left at two synagogues in the Bay State earlier this year.
Prosecutors allege that John Reardon sent bomb threats and messages expressing intent to kill Jewish children to congregations in Attleboro and Sharon on January 25.
During the ensuing investigation, authorities discovered the 59-year-old from Millis also made 98 harassing calls to the Israeli Consulate in Boston between October 7, 2023, and January 29, 2024.
Reardon’s actions were reportedly driven by Israel’s military operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Under the terms of his plea agreement, the defendant is likely to receive up to two and a half years in prison at his August 14 sentencing hearing.
