Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is willing to provide millions of dollars and safe passage to another country in exchange for the release of his citizens held captive by terrorists in Gaza, according to a report by Israel's Channel 12 News.

The offer was discussed in a government meeting on Sunday with chief hostage negotiator Gal Hirsch and is anticipated to be as high as $5 million per person.

Last month, former SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum publicly pledged $100,000 in cash or Bitcoin to support a similar initiative.

Jerusalem estimates that 60 of the 251 abductees taken by Hamas during its October 7, 2023, rampage in southern Israel are still alive.

The proposal follows a statement made this weekend by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announcing Hamas’s rejection of a short-term ceasefire agreement mediated by Egypt, which would have resulted in the return of four Israeli captives and the parole of 100 Palestinian security prisoners.
