Netanyahu Will Meet with Biden During July Trip: Report

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is expected to meet with President Joe Biden when he visits Washington to address the U.S. Congress later this month, according to a report by CNN.

The news outlet reported that a White House official said that the two leaders “will likely see each other when the Prime Minister is here over the course of that week,” but that the administration has “nothing to announce at this time.”

A meeting would come as tensions between Biden and Netanyahu have been strained by opposition from leftist members of the Democratic Party regarding the war in Gaza, apprehension from Jerusalem over the president’s ceasefire proposal, and recent criticisms from the prime minister that the U.S. is withholding vital military aid to the Jewish state.

Although the two men have spoken on the phone frequently since the start of the IDF’s military operations against the Hamas terrorist organization, they have not seen each other in person since shortly after the October 7 massacre.
