No Surprises Here: IAEA Says Tehran Has Further Increased Enriched Uranium Stockpile

The Islamic Republic has further increased its stockpile of enriched uranium, according to a confidential International Atomic Energy Agency report seen by The Associated Press.

The news agency stated that the most recent IAEA summary accuses the regime in Tehran of now possessing nearly 365 pounds of uranium enriched to 60 percent, an expansion of almost 50 pounds since the last inventory was taken in May.

Under international restrictions, the Iranian regime is limited to enriching the fissile element to a 3.67 percent purity level, an amount that is required for its use in civilian applications. This boundary is necessary because materials refined at 60 percent purity are only a single technical process away from reaching a weapons-grade capability with a 90 percent formulation.

Past audits of the theocracy’s nuclear program have found particles as high as 84 percent purity.

The IAEA’s director, Rafael Grossi, has previously warned that the regime is likely able to fabricate seven destructive nuclear devices in a month and more than 13 by the end of the year.
