California police arrested a suspect in connection to the death of Paul Kessler, a 69-year-old Jewish man who died following a recent confrontation with a pro-Palestinian protester, law enforcement said Thursday.

Loay Alnaji, 50, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and his bail is set at $1 million, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said.

Kessler was reportedly hit in the head with a megaphone during dueling rallies at an intersection of the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks on Nov. 6 and he died from his injuries the following day.

Police are still asking anyone with potential evidence, including people with dashcam videos, to come forward, as officials said eyewitnesses have given "conflicting" statements about the incident.

Alnaji appears to have taught at Moorpark College, but his entry on the community college website has been removed.
