Law enforcement authorities in Tel Aviv responded to an explosion on Sunday evening that killed one individual and injured another.
Police say a bomb detonated on Lehi Street while it was apparently being transported in a backpack by an unnamed pedestrian. The blast reportedly killed the courier and moderately wounded a 33-year-old passerby who was operating an electric scooter.
The city’s police commander, Peretz Amar, told reporters at the scene his officers had not yet identified the person in possession of the dangerous device, nor had they determined if the incident was terrorist or criminal in nature.
Israel’s domestic security agency, the Shin Bet, is also involved in the investigation.
