Three sons of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday, according to announcements by the Gaza-based terror group and relatives of the deceased.
Amir, Hazem, and Mohammad Haniyeh were reported to have been traveling in a car near Al-Shati with several of their children when the incident occurred. Three of Haniyeh’s grandchildren were said to have been additional casualties of the operation.
Israeli military officials confirmed the attack, describing the targets as active members of their father’s organization who “conducted terrorist activity in the central Gaza Strip.”
In a statement released after the event, Haniyeh said that the deaths would make Hamas “more steadfast in our principles and adherence to our land.”
