Speculations are swirling that Israel and the U.S. may attack Iran before a potential Biden Administration takes office.
Former Trump Advisor Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster confirmed in an interview with Fox News that it is possible Israel may take military action against Iran before Trump is out of office, hinting to a unilateral move by Israel or a collaborative effort together with the U.S.
“Israel follows the Begin doctrine, which means they will not accept a hostile state having the most destructive weapons on Earth,” said McMaster.
McMaster issued a warning to a possible Biden Administration.
“It would be a really big mistake to try to turn the clock back to 2016 and resurrect the Iran nuclear deal. The Iran nuclear deal was a political disaster masquerading as a diplomatic triumph.”
McMaster cited the four decades of proxy wars Iran has waged against the U.S. as well as the Iranian regime’s “hostile ideology” as critical components the Iran deal failures to take into account.
The money freed up from the JCPOA, or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, better known as the Iran nuclear deal, was used by the regime to fund terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East and “to intensify the sectarian violence across the region in an effort to put a proxy army on the border of Israel,” he said.
In 2007, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) bombed the site of a suspected nuclear reactor in Syria in an effort to send Tehran the message that Israel will not tolerate the development of nuclear weapons in Iran.
Prime Minister Netanyahu clearly stated in 2019 that “Israel will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons that threaten our existence and endanger the entire world.”
