A judge in California ruled on Wednesday that a college professor will stand trial for the alleged killing of a Jewish man at a pro-Hamas demonstration in Thousand Oaks last November.

After a two-day preliminary hearing, Ventura County Superior Court Judge Ryan Wright determined that there is enough evidence for Loay Abdelfattah Alnaji to face charges of involuntary manslaughter and battery causing serious bodily injury in the death of 69-year-old Paul Kessler.

Alnaji, who teaches computer science at Moorpark College, is accused of assaulting Kessler with a megaphone while the married father of one engaged in a pro-Israel counter-protest.

As a result of the incident, Kessler reportedly fell backward and stuck his head on the pavement, succumbing to his injuries the following day.

The defendant, who holds U.S. and Jordanian passports, could face over four years of incarceration if convicted of the charges.

Fox News reported shortly after his arrest that Alnaji curated jihadist materials on his social media accounts.
