A senior member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations expressed condolences to the assassinated leader of the Hamas terrorist organization early Wednesday.
In a statement on X, the San Francisco chapter president, Zahra Billoo, mourned the recently eliminated Ismail Haniyeh while suggesting that the former jihadist was “martyred in the cause of Allah.”
"Tonight, we mourn Ismail himself but know his martyrdom is not in vain," she concluded before calling for the elimination of Israel.
“Never say that those martyred in the cause of Allah are dead—in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it.”

Tonight, we mourn Ismail himself but know his martyrdom is not in vain. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
In a follow-up tweet later in the day, the civil rights attorney continued with her commentary while making the unsubstantiated claim that 180,000 Palestinians have been killed in a ‘genocide’ committed by the Jewish state over the last 300 days.
I mourn yesterday’s martyrs because I can see the horrific path killing peace negotiators leads to.

I mourn for every innocent life claimed by Israel’s decades long occupation, and now a genocide that has claimed 180,000 more Palestinian lives in the past 300 days.
Billoo, who appears to be the highest-ranking CAIR official to honor Haniyeh's passing, was reportedly expelled from the leftist Woman’s March Board of Directors in 2019 over allegations of antisemitic content on her social media accounts.
