Israeli military officials announced Tuesday that 115 rockets and several drones were launched into various northern areas of the Jewish state throughout the day.
The Tehran-backed Hezbollah militia claimed responsibility for the incursions, saying that the operation was directed towards IDF bases in the region and was in response to Monday’s airstrikes against the terror group’s munition storage facilities in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.
The attacks, targeting the Golan Heights, Upper Galilee, and Western Galilee, caused no reported casualties but ignited several wildfires at the impact sites.
The bombardment comes as Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, told members of the IDF’s 36th Division during a Tuesday visit that the focus of the country’s armed forces “is moving from south to north; we are in a gradual change.”
