On Monday, Israel’s new ambassador to the United Nations issued a letter urging the Security Council to censure Hezbollah and its benefactors in Tehran for the extensive attack on the Jewish state that occurred the previous day.

Israeli representative Danny Danon has requested condemnation of the Sunday incursion, during which over 200 projectiles were launched into Israel on the orders of the militia’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

The envoy also noted that since October 8, the terrorist group has launched over 7,500 separate munitions at Israel, prompting 60,000 civilians to evacuate their homes and subjecting the northern region of the country to ongoing bombardment.

Danon additionally asserted that Hezbollah's activities in the region breach U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, a measure unanimously adopted in 2006 that mandates the demilitarization of southern Lebanon and obligates militants to stay north of the Litani River.
