Norway’s security police (PST) are investigating reports that one of their citizens has been linked to an incident of exploding pagers owned by the Tehran-backed Hezbollah militia, according to a report by Reuters.
In a text message to the news outlet, a PST representative confirmed their agents are looking into allegations that a Norwegian national is the owner of a Bulgarian company, Norta Global Ltd., that was allegedly involved in distributing the booby-trapped instruments.
Last week, at least 30 operatives of the terror group were killed and more than 2,800 injured when communication devices in their possession simultaneously detonated after receiving an activation dispatch. Israel’s intelligence services have been widely suspected of organizing the incursion.
The Sofia-based firm is also reportedly under scrutiny from authorities in Bulgaria regarding any participation in the matter.
The efforts by Bulgaria and Norway follow similar inquiries by state agencies in Hungary and Taiwan to find answers to the September 17 event.
