Law enforcement authorities in Sweden announced Thursday that they are investigating a shooting incident adjacent to the Gothenburg offices of the Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems.

Police officials confirmed there were no reported injuries and arrested a juvenile suspected of the crime. Sources told Aftonbladet the alleged assailant is under 15 years old.

On June 3, a “suspected explosive object” was discovered near the location of the attack.

Elbit Systems, a company specializing in remote-controlled aerial vehicles, has on several occasions been the target of anti-Israel protesters since the start of the October 2023 war in Gaza. On Tuesday, demonstrators in London vandalized a corporate building used by the German financial firm Allianz over their business relationship with the Haifa-based enterprise.

The Israeli Embassy in Stockholm did not respond to requests for comment on the matter.
