A 72-year-old from Rishon Lezion was murdered and 32 injured when a commercial vehicle drove into a crowded bus stop outside of a military base north of Tel Aviv on Sunday. Reports indicate that five of the affected individuals are in serious condition.

Police said the incident took place near the IDF’s Glilit base in Herzliya, following the disembarkation of passengers from a bus. Among the casualties were a group of senior citizens who were on a museum excursion to honor the victims of the October 7 massacre.

Israeli media identified the alleged perpetrator as Rami Nasrallah, an Arab Israeli from Qalansawe who was shot dead by armed citizens following the tragic event.

Hamas released a statement after the incursion, describing it as a “heroic ramming attack” and “a natural response to the crimes of the Zionist occupation against our Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and its ongoing brutal massacres, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.”

Nasrallah's employer told the Kan public broadcaster that the driver had deviated from his scheduled route and was not meant to be in the area.
