An Israeli-American university professor allegedly had service denied to him at a New York City LEGO Store after requesting a custom figurine be made as a tribute to the Israeli hostages held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza, according to a report by Jewish News.

Shai Davidai, a faculty member at Columbia Business School, claimed while shopping at the popular toy company's 5th Avenue location, he arranged to purchase a 'LEGO Person' model with a shirt featuring a yellow ribbon and the words "bring them home" on the back.

Davidai told the London-based newspaper that after placing his order, the outlet’s manager approached him and refused to process the transaction due to the political nature of the message.

Despite protesting the decision, the Ivy League instructor chose to accept a refund before returning home and sharing his experience on social media.

Davidai’s story reportedly prompted responses from individuals who claimed they had successfully created similar remembrances at LEGO retailers in Europe and Israel.

Inquiries by Jewish News for comment from the LEGO Group's corporate office went unanswered.
