Wikileaks email: Senior Clinton advisor says “Israel is depressing”

Wikileaks released the latest dump of emails from Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta Friday, now with comments knocking Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In an email entitled “Man” from March 18, 2015, Neera Tanden, a senior advisor to the Clinton campaign wrote to Clinton 2016 campaign chairman and former chief of staff to Bill Clinton, John Podesta, saying “Israel is depressing,” adding that “It's a good lesson that the wing nuts are just ruthless in every country.” This is the 21st set of emails released as part of it’s ‘Podesta series,’ with the organization now having published 35,594 of the 50,000 emails it promised to post. The email appears to have been sent just hours after Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won reelection in March 2015 following a bitter campaign against rival candidate Issac Herzog. The campaign was fraught with frequent allegations that the Obama administration and U.S. State Department attempting to influence the outcome of the election and oust Netanyahu in favor of what it deemed the more ‘moderate’ Herzog. “Bad,” was Podesta response to Tanden’s email. Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization, is part of Hillary Clinton’s inner circle, serving as co-chair of the Clinton-Kaine Transition Project. The dump is the latest in a series of embarrassing leaks from the Clinton campaign already reeling from previous email releases showing campaign officials deriding Catholics, Southerners, and ‘needy Latinos.’ In a separate release yesterday, Tanden called the decision to approve Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as "f---ing insane," asking if the person responsible had “been drawn and quartered.”
