Police in Amsterdam arrested several agitators on Monday as a new wave of unrest unfolded, following last week's coordinated violence by local Muslim gangs targeting Israeli soccer fans in the Dutch capital.
Officials reported that the offenders vandalized property, set off fireworks, and shouted antisemitic slogans.
One video of the disturbances posted on social media purportedly shows a public tram burning next to an unidentified troublemaker chanting “cancer Jews.”
The riots in the large municipality erupted early on Friday, involving organized attacks on Jewish tourists who had traveled to the Netherlands to attend a Thursday Europa League match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and AFC Ajax.
On Sunday, authorities arrested 50 protesters and dispersed 340 individuals who had gathered for an unsanctioned anti-Israel demonstration in Amsterdam’s Dam Square after the city’s mayor imposed a ban on unauthorized public gatherings in response to the uncontrolled disorder.
