The Biden administration recently waived sanctions on the Iran regime’s state media operator, despite its regular promotion of antisemitic propaganda and terrorism-related content, according to a report by The Washington Free Beacon.

The news outlet reported that the United States Treasury Department informed Congress on August 9, in a non-public disclosure, that it intends to remove restrictions on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), an agency that controls radio and television transmission in the theocracy.

The waiver, made with Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s approval, will reportedly allow IRIB to conduct financial transactions to purchase hardware and materials necessary for the company to function.

The report noted that while the White House has issued IRIB waivers in the past, this action comes at a time when Tehran is advocating for the destruction of Israel and its allied militias are attacking and injuring U.S. military personnel in the region.

The decision brought strong disapproval by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who told The Free Beacon that President Biden’s "appeasement of the Iranian regime knows no bounds, even while the regime and its proxies are launching daily attacks against American troops and our allies."
