Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, is planning to visit the US-Mexico border on Friday during her trip to the battleground state of Arizona, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
The planned visit comes at a time when polls show that most voters think former President Donald Trump would handle the border and immigration better than Harris, the current vice president.
The planned visit to the southern border would be Harris' first since President Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July.
The details of the visit have not yet been released by the Harris campaign.
