The United States is delivering a new military aid package worth $425 million to the government in Kiev, the Pentagon announced on Wednesday.

The materials provided will reportedly include ammunition for High-Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-tank projectiles, armored vehicles, artillery shells, cluster bombs, small arms, and spare parts for equipment already in use.

In a statement on Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to Washington for "its readiness to help Ukraine strengthen its positions to compel Russia towards honest diplomacy."

The latest tranche of support comes as U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin traveled to Brussels this week for meetings with NATO leaders and defense ministers from G7 countries.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the U.S. has supplied the besieged nation with nearly $60 billion in lethal assistance.
